The goals from Firmin Mubélé and Jeremy Bokila see The leopards taking away maximum points as the visitors, Sierra Leone as host nation remain the only team in the group without a win and their chances of qualification for AFCON 2015 is getting extremely slim.
Two consecutive defeats in the Group D for Sierra Leone and all hopes are now completely on sheer luck, inadequate preparation and because they refused to gain upper hand in the group by their inability to win matches against tougher opposition it will be a rough road.
Last weekend, Sierra Leone had lost away to Ivory Coast as DRC Leopards went down to Cameroon. But The DRC Leopards has swiftly turned their fortunes to condemned Leone Stars to bottom of the group table.
However, the result is not surprising, going into the game the jet lagged Sierra Leone’s squad are down to 15-man and skipper Umaru Bangura and midfielder Alfred Sankoh has all been ruled out due to injuries.
The squad travelled from 2am last Sunday morning and get to their Lubumbashi based 22hrs Monday night which has undoubtedly affected head coach McKinstry plans.
