Al Bangura was signed as a backup player on a short term deal. The 27-year-old joined the club until May 25 having spent a month on trial with the Sky Blues.
Frank Nouble, Adam Barton, Andy Webster, Shaun Miller, Simeon Jackson, Al Bangura, Danny Pugh and Blair Turgott are already given notice to leave the club.
Bangura had played five Under-21s games for the Sky Blues and captained the side in the 2-0 win over Barnsley Under-21s impressing boss Tony Mowbray before he was signed.
He joined Championship side Watford in 2005 and made over 60 league appearances for the Hornets during a four-year spell.
Bangura also had spells at Blackpool and Turkish Super Lig side Mersin before he joined Forest Green Rovers in 2011 and made over 80 appearances for the Conference side in a three-year spell.
