National home-based Head coach, Abdulai Bah (Kaloga), believes the squad is heading to Mauritania to kick start their 2016 African Nations Championship with the right mentality this weekend.

“I know the boys very well, they’re in high spirit and very thirsty for glory.

“After success in Yaoundé, it is almost the same team that eliminated the Cameroon U-23 squad and most of them with 90 minutes of exposure in Khartoum against Sudan, I’m optimistic against Mauritania,” Bah told footballsierraleone.net

The new home-grown emerging stars will be again showcasing their talents in Mauritania for a place in the African Nations Cup Championship (CHAN) to be hosted by Rwanda, the competition designed exclusively for local based players across the continent.

A 27-man delegation will be departing Freetown en-route Guinea for Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Mauritania has also agreed to Sierra Leone’s request for the second leg to be played Nouakchott a week later.

The match was originally scheduled to be held in Sierra Leone, but the Confederation of African football (Caf) still banned matches in Sierra Leone and Guinea.
