Balıkesirspor’s Sankoh motivated by TFF Playoffs spot


Alfred Zagalo Sankoh (Pictured celebrating) was part of the Balıkesirspor winning team that secured a spot in the Turkish Football League One playoffs first leg commencing May 19, 2016, in a doubleheader contest against Alanyaspor.

At their Ataturk Stadium on Saturday, they won the right to the league’s playoff following a 2-1 over 1461 Trabzon.

Dutch international, Género Zeefuik opening the scoring for the home side in the 69 minutes and Dilaver ‘s goals in the 90th minute sealed the victory.

However, there was a consolation goal for the visitors scored by Ferhat Yazgan in the 94 minutes of extra time.

The 27-year-old Sierra Leone international, who was introduce in the 58th minutes of play is highly determine to help his side gain promotion.

“We have to be totally focus going into all our play-off matches. These are very difficult games but we are highly motivated and determined to get promoted to the Super League.

“I believed in hard work and that is exactly what is expected from my team-mates,” Sankoh told

Since joining the club in June 2015 on a two-year deal the former Strømsgodset and Khazar Lankaran midfielder have made 19 appearances for the TFF Lig 1 side.
