Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK have confirmed on their official website that Sierra Leone striker Mohamed Bangura has signed over three-year deal with Dalian Yifang FC in China.
Dalian Yifang currently plays in the second tier of Chinese football, The China League One. The club was founded in 2009 by the Dalian Aerbin Group which still owns the team.They are based Dalian, Liaoning
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Bangura said, “AIK will always be the club in my heart and I’m very grateful that I had to come back after playing in another Premier Division club before.
“It has been a great season this year and I wish AIK luck in 2016. As I have understood that I am the player in AIK’s history that brought in the most money to the club and I feel very proud, says Mohamed Bangura.
Bangura’s third spell with AIK Stockholm is over, in his first spell during the 2010 and 2011 seasons the striker scored 13 goals in 33 appearances.
Bangura, who was recommended to Celtic by former striker and fan favourite Henrik Larsson, is the first Sierra Leonean to play for the Scottish club,
After his £2.2million move to Celtic, he made his debut in Celtic 4-0 victory over Motherwell FC coming on in the 68th minute as a substitute.
Bangura suffered a knee injury after few months that kept him away for the rest of the season.
On the 5th of December, AIK announced the return of Mohamed Bangura, having gone through some tough recent years in his career.
In total over his three spells with AIK, Bangura played in 93 competitive matches and scored 30 goals for the Swedish side.
Bangura has also had spells with IF Elfsborg and Istanbul BB during the 2013/14 season respectively.
