Bangura’s Minsk caught out by Rapid Wien

Dinamo Minsk 0-1 Rapid Wien

Sierra Leone international, the versatile Leone Stars skipper Umaru Bangura club side Dinamo Minsk were defeated by Austrian side Rapid Wien in their UEFA Europa League Group E matchday 2 qualifier.

Bangura wearing the No 17 jersey was part of the Dinamo’s back four but cannot help when Steffen Hofmann scored his fourth in seven outings for Rapid in this campaign.

There was some good early intent from the host, but in the 54th minutes Steffen Hofmann’s best run of goal scoring form this decade continued as his second-half strike earned the Austrian side a second Group E win.

The Belarusian failed on their attempt to record a third successive home win against Austrian opponents in Belarus.

They were unbeaten in three European home fixtures this term but are yet to score or win in their three group stage home matches from last season.

Bangura and his side will be away to Villarreal in Spain October 22nd as group leaders’ Rapid host FC Plzeň

Dinamo are bottom of the group without a win.
