Sudanese club Al Hilal played to a 1-all draw against Malawian Champions Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in the second round, second leg of the 2015 Caf Champions League on Sunday to convincingly clear the first chapter in their bid to lift the African Champions League.
After some impressive display, the host exploded to life after the break Bullets snatched the lead in the 74th minute through James Chilapondwa from a spot, awarded after Seyifu Masawi’s handball.
However, the lead only last for two minutes a brilliant goal by Al Hilal’s Frank Boubacar.
The Omdurman club won the last 32 tie 5-1 on aggregate after thrashing Bullets 4nil in Khartoum in the first leg meeting to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Sierra Leone international, David Simbo in photo speaking just after their 1-1 draw from Malawi said he expects a tougher opponent in the round of 16.
“A great away result, am delighted for the team and I think we are growing into the competition, but now we must expect a tougher opponent in the next round,” He told footballsierraleone.net
“We making use of the experience players we have in the team and also in the competition. If we can maintain our resilient and quality in front of goal we can go all the way this time.
The Sudanese side was eliminated by Democratic Republic of Congo giant TP Mazembe in the group stage of the competition last season.
