Despite all the challenges Sierra Leone Football Association rival members have brought in fresh idea to allow football play at the highest level all over the country as eleven teams set for a showdown. But, the Country’s football body (SLFA) executive in a statement vehemently stated that they are not part of this ‘Illegal organised Premier League’ commencing Saturday.

“We remind you that, pursuant to art .13. Par 1h of the SLFA statutes “not to maintain any relation of sporting nature with entities that are not recognised or with members that have been suspended or expelled.”

“The National league board is not a body elected or appointed by the SLFA and as such will not be recognised by the SLFA.” They maintained that they are solely responsible for the organisation of any nation-wide football leagues in the country.

However, rival members have snubbed the FA warning and now ready to revamp their own National Premier League – venue National Stadium with Eleven teams expected to participate.

The League revived after a gap of almost two years following the 2014 SLFA League that EE Lions won. Chairman/lawyer Emmanuel Saffa Abdullai has confirmed that his board and membership will sponsor this nationwide league.

“We have waited for too long for a league to start,” he said, “We are playing football as clubs and we want the game to play. Together we have put our little cent for Sierra Leone.”

FC Kallon owned by Sierra Leone legend Mohamed Kallon will go toe to toe against East End Lions, before kick-off there will be an opening ceremony spearheaded by its board – dance troops and various entertainments Saffa confirms.

The Killers will be looking to get victory straight away kick-off 19:00 hours and it’s the first official competitive game for their newly appointed EE Lions head coach Raymond Lewis (pictured) who already had a busy time preparing for this new campaign since the end of the Ebola outbreak.

This will be the seventh meeting between the two sides. FC Kallon has an edge over East End Lions in the last five premier league meetings, having won twice, lost once and drew twice.

Raymond Samuel Lewis aka `Mourinho’ is confident of his side victory and has said he will do all he can to win the match against the ‘Kallon boys’. “This is a very important fixture for both sides, but I’m looking to secure victory in the league’s opening day against a difficult side,” Raymond told footballsierraleone.net.

Head Coach FC Kallon, Amidu Karim never minced his words when asked about his side preparation. “We must be eleven warriors on the field,” he said.

“We are looking forward to down ‘the killers’ with a win and the three points is of important to both the players and our fans.”

The National Premier League continues on Sunday Bo Rangers will play to Old Edwardians at the newly Bo constructed Stadium.

Kamboi Eagles and the FA president club side FC Johannsen will not be participating and according to several reports Kamboi Eagles Chairman Manzola Kamara already informed the media that his club will not be taking any part in the FA’s rival member’s organised Premier League.
