Two days after the Swiss football administrator, Sepp Blatter announced his resignation as FIFA president on Tuesday amid the numerous corruption scandals; Football Sierra Leone contacted the Sierra Leone sports ministry for reaction.
Al-Sankoh Conteh, the Deputy Sports minister never minced his words talking to this medium, he said, “I’ve lost total faith under the Sepp Blatter’s leadership.
“The growth of football in Sierra Leone is going backwards if Blatter’s executive continued to support Isha Johansen.
“It is good news for Africa football and it will send a clear signal to African Football administrators to respect government authority and best practices in terms of accountability and transparency.
“This is ethical lessons to all football associations that corruption and the unholy alliance must not be tolerated, and that all financial deal must be monitored.”
SLFA under Isha Johansen’s has come under months of allegations of corruption accusations that led to the majority of football administrators vote to dissolve the present FA executive.
Alleged claims of malpractices, no transparency and the country football have struggled under her leadership.
The football crisis in the country continued to deepen, after the long-awaited congress in Makeni was brought to an abrupt end, a row over the eligibility of some of the delegates who were expected to attend.
However, last month Fifa decided to take a new approach to ensure that the Sierra Leone FA Congress goes ahead without any impediments.
But the latest development now obligates Johansen’s rivals celebrating as they see Sepp Blatter and Jerome Valcke, the FIFA Secretary General as an obstacle in their bid to oust her executive.
