FIFA issues Sierra Leone Ultimatum

The Sierra Leone National Sports Council (NSC) have been given until Wednesday, December 16 to overturn their decision to dissolved the Isha Johansen led executive or the matter will be referred to the FIFA’s Emergency committee.

The (NSC) said that the Football Association (SLFA) has been dissolved with immediate effect from Wednesday, December 9, 2015.

“The decisions of the National Sports Council appear to amount to government interference in the internal affairs of the SLFA,” acting Fifa secretary general Markus Kattner said in a letter to SLFA secretary general, Chris Kamara.

FIFA’s ultimatum to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Sport: “Stop interfering in SLFA or face suspension.”

Football Sierra Leone reported on Thursday this week that Fifa will perceive this as government interference, but the sports body said the dissolution was in accordance with FIFA mandate after a seven-man committee was set up to identify the forty-seven voting delegates for a congress which is now overdue.
