Sierra Leone’s shooting Stars were dumped out of the 2017 African U-20 Youth championship away in the Gambia.

Their dream is over following a 2-0 defeat to Gambia in the first round return fixture – the Shooting Stars was always second best to reach the next stage of the competition.

The Gambians once again outclassed Charlie Wright’s team to advance 4-0 on aggregate to the next stage of the competition.

This is the second time the Gambians have knocked Sierra Leone out of this competition – the first was in the 2011 qualifiers.

The Gambians will face North African powerhouse Morocco in the second round of the qualifiers.

Zambia will host the 2017 African Youth Championship from February 26 to March 12.
