Sierra Leone and FC Johansen winger, George Kweku Davies, has signed a four and half year contract with German side SpVgg Greuther Fürth, until June 30, 2019. Photo, Davies battles Gervinho of Ivory Coast in the first leg of the Afcon qualifier.
The German club announced the signing of professional contract last Sunday after the youngster turned 18.
Davies who played at the age of 17 years for the Sierra Leone national team prepared in recent months on the youth academy of SpVgg.
According the President Helmut Hack: “George has great technical skills and an extraordinary rapidity.
“He can be used offensively on both the left and on the right we all have very good care of us in the past few months about him George is hardworking and very willing to learn.
“We will support him on his way in the senior area further and give the necessary time. We are very confident that we will have much pleasure in George. ”
“He is like Baba, sometimes he is really Good! Especially in the one-against-one, he is very strong and fast. Nevertheless, Baba was at the beginning tactically and defensively a little further.”
After Monday’s training, the winger told journalists in Germany that he was happy to sign a professional contract and hope to repay the club back.
He told BILD: “I am incredibly proud and happy now to be a professional footballer in Germany and hope I can repay this trust Greuther Fürth.”
