Hassan Milla to replace injured Alfred Sankoh in Leone Stars Afcon squad

FC Lahti’s Sierra Leone international Hassan Milla Sesay who plies his trade in the Finish Premier League will finally get another chance to compete for a place in the national team.

Milla 22 will join up with the Sierra Leone squad replacing Khazar Lankaran midfielder Alfred Sankoh for the Cameroon encounter in Yaoundé this month.

The Azerbaijan based midfielder suffered a muscle tie strain in Sierra Leone 2-1 defeat to the Ivory Coast in Abidjan. According to Sankoh his club officials are not ready to risk any further damage to his injury.

George Kweku is also going to miss the Cameroon double header due to injury. However, newly-appointed Leone stars coach Atto Mensah has included Alhaji Adriano Kamara from IFK Norrkoping as his replacement in his squad to face Cameroon on 11 and 15 October.

Milla Sesay and Patrick Bantamoi are both members of Sierra Leone U-17 team at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland.

Finland-based goalkeeper Patrick Bantamoi will be representing Sierra Leone for the first time, whilst Milla was on the bench against Equatorial Guinea in Freetown under former Irish coach Johnny Mckinstry.

The Leone Stars are bottom of Group D in the ongoing qualifiers.
