Italy-based Sierra Leonean international Rodney Strasser is targeting a return from a shoulder injury which has ruled him out for the almost the first half of the Italian Serie A season.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who suffered a dislocated shoulder during an international assignment with the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, in one of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, posted a video and a picture of himself on his official Instagram page “That” shows his recovery workout.
On the video, the former AC Milan midfielder posted: “Praise God, I am there!!!” On the training photo he posted: “Very close-meaning he is closer to a return.”
However, in an exclusive interview with Concord Sports, the midfielder said he may be fully fit and ready to make a return to the Genoa squad in January.
He said: “You know it is frustrating to be on the side-line for so long and this injury nearly cost me my contract with the club. I never played with the team during pre-season because of international assignment and I returned with injury.”
“I just want to thank God for the way my recovery process is going and I am looking forward to be full fit and make a return with the rest of the squad in January because I cannot play now,” he added.
