Jebor Sherrington named as Leone Stars Caretaker

Sierra Leone Football Association Technical Director, Jebor Sherrington has been appointed to take charge of Sierra Leone on a temporal basis for this month’s African Nations Cup qualifier, SLFA media sources report.

He will take charge of Sierra Leone’s first leg 2017 Afcon qualifier against Sudan in Khartoum this month and will be assisted by former international defenders Charlie Wright and Joseph Toby.

“He (Sherrington) has been appointed this afternoon to step in the gap while we are in the process of appointing a new coach,” SLFA’s head of media, Abubakar Kamara stated.

“He would be in charge just for the Sudan game and he has named a 20-man squad which will be made public tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Sherrington is still the Technical Director for the football Association despite the appointment.
