Former Sierra Leone captain Ibrahim ‘Obreh’ Kargbo’s side Welling United were relegated from the Vanarama National League this afternoon after a 4-0, defeat at fellow strugglers Chester FC.
Another disappointing result today marks their third straight successive defeat that consigned the club to relegation for the first time since 2012 – 2013 season.
The former Willem II midfielder was part of the Wings side that was defeated on Saturday at Chester.
Founded in 1963, the Wings also dropped out of the Conference when they were relegated on the last day of the season in 1999–2000 and returned to the Southern League.
Kargbo, 34, signed for the London Borough of Bexley side in February 2016 after previous spells with Feyenoord Rotterdam, RWD Molenbeek, Sporting Charleroi, Mataysaspor Turkey FC Brussels, Baku and Atletico in Portugal since leaving local club Old Edwardians in 1997.
