Kei Kamara scores twice in Crew’s draw with Kansas KC

Preseason – Kei Kamara scored twice for Columbus Crew against former club Sporting Kansas City in the Desert Diamond Cup on Wednesday at the Kino Sports Complex Grandstand Field in Tucson, Arizona.

Sporting KC twice came from behind in the second half as goals from Soni Mustivar and 2016 MLS SuperDraft selection Faik Hajderovic cancelled out Kei Kamara’s brace.

Columbus wasted no time making the breakthrough as Kei Kamara opened the scoring in the 46th minutes to hand his former club a 1-0 deficit before Soni Mustivar levels the scoreline seven minutes later.

Kei double Crew SC leads after they were awarded a penalty for a foul on the Sierra Leonean.

Faik Hajderovic 88th minutes equaliser earned Kansas City a 2-2 draw.

All four goals on Wednesday came in the final 45 minutes, including Hajderovic’s 88th-minute equalizer which kept Sporting KC’s unbeaten preseason campaign intact.

Columbus Crew will face Real Salt Lake on Saturday, February 20 at the North Kino sports complex.

The Major League Soccer season will kick-off on March 6 and Columbus Crew will start away to Portland Timbers before hosting the Philadelphia Union on the 13th of March 2016.
