Sierra Leone international Alhaji Kamara glittering career was feared to be over after the Swedish defending champions IFK Norrköping announced a heart condition detected.
Football Sierra Leone understands that the 22-year-old is ready to make a sensational comeback and could sign a contract with Major League Soccer side DC United.
According to a media report in Sweden few weeks ago Kamara has been in the United States where he underwent several heart tests and further investigations with positive results.
– I cannot comment on anything right now, Kamara’s agent Patrick Mork was quoted as saying.
This medium reported in February that Kamara is suffering from a congenital heart disease, a deviation of the coronary arteries which potentially could result in sudden death after IFK Norrkoping announcement.
FIFA and UEFA do not recommend any player with such problem to continue playing football.
However, Major League soccer is not subject to FIFA or UEFA regulations and Kamara is hoping the league’s head doctors give him the go-ahead and could sign on for DC United in Washington.
The 5 ft. 11 inches striker scored six goals in 14 appearances to help IFK Norrkoping to the Swedish title last season.
