Mohamed Buya Turay first goal seals victory for AFC over Assyriska


Athletic Football Club United midfielder Mohamed Buya Turay scored a brilliant goal from an acute angle to help the Swedish Superettan league leaders sealed victory on Wednesday.

The Sierra Leonean first goal for the first team set them up for a 2-0 win over Assyriska away from home.

Omar Eddahri scored the away side opening goal in the 21st from Sasa Matic cross and 9 minutes later Buya Turay scored AFC winner as they maintained top spot.

Turay, 20, who scored four goals for AFC few days ago, was substituted in the 69th minutes as they held on to an important victory.

“I was substituted because the coach thinks that am going to get a red card and that is why he decided to take me off to avoid me missing our next game.

“But it was a pleasure to score my first goal for this club and was a brilliant goal.

“I am delighted for the team to maintain the winning mentality.

“Looking forward to much more this season my dream is to play at the highest level in Europe,” the AFC midfielder told

Turay is a promising talent and has been tip by many soccer pundits to excel this season with the present Superetan league leaders.

He has played in every match for AFC this season.
