Newly promoted Cyprus first division club, Aris Limassol on Tuesday announced the signing of Sierra Leone international striker, Mustapha ‘Haji’ Bangura on a one-year deal.
The former AEK Larnaca and Apollon Limassol forward became one of the club’s twelfth signings this summer as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the Cyprus top tier league season.
Immediately after the deal was completed, the club twitted on their official Twitter page: “transfer acquisition for our group, Sierra Leone striker, Mustapha Bangura #welcome.”
The 25-year-old is the second Sierra Leonean player to sign for Aris Limassol after Gibrilla Julius Woobay who joined them on a season loan from Romanian side Universitaria Craiova.
The following season, Woobay extend his loan move to a permanent one as he penned down a year deal with the club before leaving for Egyptian side, Al-Masry at the end of the season.
The Sierra Leone international striker ‘Haji’ Bangura together with Steve Borg, Mali midfielder Souleymane Keita, Apollon youngster Kyriakos Panagi, OFI’s Andreas Labropoulos, Valentinos Pastelis, Minas Antoniou Amine Meftah were all signed from the Cyprus second division league.
The other signings include; French striker Goran Jerkovic, former Polish international Roger Guerreiro, former Slovakian international keeper Marian Kello while Silvio Gonzalez and Douglas also return to the club.
