HJK Helsinki midfielder Medo Kamara reveals he is ‘thankful’ to club
HJK Helsinki midfielder Mohamed ‘Medo’ Kamara admits he is “thankful” to the club for what they have done and insists he is ready for a new chapter in his career.
The former Bolton man, 28, who resigned as a free agent after being released by Bolton Wanderers in January is presently in Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain for a week-long preseason training camp with his new side.
They won their first preseason match on Wednesday 2-1 defeating Spanish división B side Real Balompédica Linense.
However, Kamara has taken to twitter to express his appreciation. He wrote: “@hjkhelsinki thank you to everyone, the Board, Management, and Fans, let the journey begins, #new chapter.”
The Helsinki opens the 2016 season at home against Mariehamn on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
Kamara played for HJK in the Finnish top flight between 2007 and 2010, where he was voted Veikkausliiga Player of the year in his final year at the club.
Kamara is very determined to revive his career that almost stalled in England due to lack of game time under manager Neil Lennon.
