Sierra Leone and Partick Thistle right-back Mustapha Dumbuya was ruled out of the Firhill side that played to a 2-2 final-day draw with Hamilton as they cement ninth position in the Scottish top flight.
He had played over 20 games this season for the Jabs scoring one goal in a 3-0 win over Dundee United in October 2015 – but was not in Alan Archibald’s side that was playing at their Firhill Stadium, Maryhill on Saturday.
Dumbuya said: “It’s the same injury; I needed a rest now after having an injection so I can be ready for pre-season.”
His initial return from injury was vital given the Partick Thistle squad a timely boost as they fought hard away from relegation.
The 28-year-old contributed to his side’s turnaround at Hamilton in their previous meeting.
After just ten appearances the former Notts County man won the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award following his impressive display.
