Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard has named a 24man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on 15 November at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan and Cameroon five days later.
The French man also included two Ivorian Veterans in his squad – Kolo Toure and Didier Zokora for the final 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Both experience defenders making their comeback for the Elephants in the 2015 qualifiers for the first time.
Renard’s men look to bounce back into their campaign after suffering a 4-3 setback at the hands of DRC Leopards in Abidjan last month.
The Elephants struggled to claim a 2-1 victory at home in Abidjan against Sierra Leone in their opener early September before being crushed by the Indomitable Lions in Yaoundé.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone has vowed to complete its Cup of Nations campaign despite conflicting reports and confusion over the government’s commitment to provide funding.
On Tuesday the Sport Ministry had released a message which stated that the government will stop funding the country’s participation with two games remaining to play this month against Ivory Coast and Congo Democratic Republic respectively.
Sierra Leone sitting first from bottom with one point in Group D, They have a very slim chance of qualifying and could only do so if they win both games.
