Rodney Strasser’s NK Zagreb finally relegated from Max PrvaLiga

NK Locomotive Zagreb all but confirmed the relegation of NK Zagreb from the Croatian top flight (Maxtv Prva Liga) after beating them 2-0 at their Zagreb Kranjčevićeva Stadium on Saturday.

The Sierra Leone international midfielder, who was loaned to the Croatian side from Genoa, has made 12 appearances since joining the club in February this year.

The 26-year-old who is unavailable to comment is expected to return to Italy after his loan spell.

Strasser joined Genoa on a permanent deal for €3.5 million on 27 July 2013, as part of Kevin Constant’s co-ownership resolution in favour of Milan for €6 million.

NK Zagreb only manages to amassed 17 points from 35 matches and that will see them spending next season in the HNL 2 – that is if Sibenik or HNK Cibalia can obtain the first-league licence in time to join the HNL 1 (Max PrvaLiga).

However, NK Istra 1961 will also have to face one of the clubs in the promotion playoff series if the licences are obtained.

Meanwhile, Dinamo Zagreb clinched their 11th consecutive championship over the weekend after defeating NK Istra 1961 1-0

Final League fixture: Sat 14/05/16 NK Zagreb 18: 00 Hajduk Split
