Sierra Leone midfielder Alfred Sankoh was part of the Balikesirspor side that ended their pre-season preparations on a high note, with a 3-1 win over their PTT League One counterpart Yeni Malatyaspor on Wednesday in their final pre-season encounter.
In their previous preparation encounter, the Leone Stars midfielder was very much instrumental for his new side as they defeated Elazığspor 1-0 on Monday last week.
In the first half, both sides were unable to break the deadlock until the 76 minutes a penalty was awarded and was converted by striker Ali Ozturk to ensure that Balikesirspor secured their fourth victory in five matches.
The 26-year-old (pictured in action) signed for the Turkish side on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee has said he can’t wait to start the new season.
Speaking to footballsierraleone.net post-match, Sankoh said: “We’re been having a tough preseason and we back in our city today ready for the season in two weeks, can’t wait as am very excited.
“The team has been doing well during our training camp, we’re now hoping we get a good start of the season.”
Sankoh began trading his career in Norway with Strømsgodset in July 2008 after he signed a permanent move after few weeks of successful training the same year.
In July 2012, Sankoh signed a three-year contract with TFF First League side Sanliurfaspor.
Two years later, in July 2014, Sankoh moved to Khazar Lankaran, signing a two-year contract making twenty-five appearances scoring two goals.
They will kick start the new campaign against Gaziantep BB at home in front of their 16,000 fans at the Atatürk Stadium Saturday, August 15, 2015.
