Sierra Leone midfielder Michael Lahoud makes winning Cosmos debut


Michael Lahoud (Pictured in celebration) started and played the full 90 minutes of his New York Cosmos debut as the defending Champions beat Ottawa-fury 3-0 on Sunday in the opening week of the North American Soccer League.

Lahoud was very impressive on his debut and the victory makes NY Cosmos one of only two clubs to record a win on opening weekend, with three of the five matches played in the first week resulting in draws.

Lahoud, 29, was delighted after helping his new side to an impressive victory and he took to twitter to thanked fans.

“It’s all about our 12th man in the stands. Thanks for making my @NYCosmos @naslofficial debut special.”


The Sierra Leone international signed for the New York Cosmos in January on loan from MLS side Philadelphia Union.

In 2013, Lahoud made his first national appearance with Sierra Leone, featuring in their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Equatorial Guinea.
