Sierra Leone are up to 115th in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday.
This latest ranking is an improvement from that of February where Sierra Leone was ranked 117 among the best footballing country in the world.
Sierra Leone are bottom of Group I in the 2017 African Nations Cup qualifiers and they will face Gabon in this month’s double-header, before their must-win encounter against Sudan in June.
Despite a tough task ahead of them to reach Gabon 2017, any decent result home and away against Gabon may help propelled the Leone Stars up in April and May rankings.
They are now the Thirty-fourth best African side.
World’s top five: Belgium, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile.
CAF top 10: Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, DR Congo, Congo, and Cameroon.
