Later tonight Kei Kamara’s Crew SC will host Michael Lahoud’s Philadelphia Union at their MAPFRE Stadium in an all Eastern Conference showdown (7:30 p.m. ET). However, history between the two sides favoured the host ‘Black & Gold’.
The Crews head Coach Gregg Berhalter believes is going to be a tough contest and is preparing his side to be tough against a visiting team that is looking to find its winning ways.
Berhalter is also wary of any complacency and has said, “Like most teams in the MLS, it will be a tough game.
“They are a good team. They have gotten unlucky in some games and it just hasn’t been going their way. But they are a dangerous team.”
Kei has been brilliant so far scoring four goals in his last six games for Columbus Crew. The Crew’s fans are happy with Kei’s performances so far and they have shown appreciation with a banner of support for the 30-year-old striker.
Philadelphia head coach has said of Lahoud to take hold of his career if he wants a permanent starting role.
“He put it a lot less lightly than that,” Lahoud told MLSsoccer.com with a laugh. “It was definitely a cold splash of water that I needed to put things in perspective.”
“I think Lahoud has been playing very well,” the Union coach said. “He’s one of the guys that I would say is performing at his top level.”
The two Sierra Leone internationals will have different points to prove and with Lahoud’s Union have only registered one victory in eight matches played – tonight contest is looking a must win game for the visitors.
