The Young Lions

Sierra Leone finished 0-0 hosting Cameroon in Yaoundé in a 2015 CAF U-23 second round, first leg qualifier at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

Under the technical direction of head coach John Keister, the Sierra Leone squad tamed the 2000 Olympics champions and edged closer ahead of the second leg second round tie.

The two sides will meet again in the final leg next Sunday in Yaoundé.

Fresh hopes for the Sierra Leone Olympics’ team after the new generation of players ambitiously put up a priceless performance in their rival’s capital city.

The journey to qualify for the 2016 Brazil Olympics will see Sierra Leone face Algeria should they finish the job away to Cameroon.

Cameroon will have to win at all cost if they are to eliminate their counterparts, any scoreline draw will see the young Lions eliminated from the competition.

Sierra Leone looking to qualify for the first time in the country’s football history but is a dream that is yet looking too far-fetched.

But with a proper mindset from the Sierra Leone former internationals coach John Keister and Abu Bakarr Tostao is it a possibility.

The Championship is slated for Dakar, Senegal from November 28-December 12 2015.

The top three at this tournament will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
