Former Watford and Sierra Leone international midfielder Al Bangura has revealed his ordeal on how he ‘was trafficked for sex’ before signing for top-flight Premier League club.

Watford’s Alhassan Bangura and Wayne Rooney of Manchester United during the Barclays Premiership match at Old Trafford on January 31, 2007, in Manchester, England.

The combative midfielder who was cleared on 14 January 2008 to stay in the UK has claimed he was taken to the UK and forced to work as a prostitute.

Bangura, 27, has said he was tricked by criminals who exploited his desire to play football in England

“I said I didn’t think this was something I wanted to get involved with. I want to play football and I’m going to school so I don’t want to do that,” he says.
