Sheriff Suma marked his fourth league appearance for Syrianska IF with a stunning goal on Saturday at the Swedbank Park, and he says it eases a bit of pressure and give him more confidence for upcoming matches.
Syrianska defeated league newcomer Avesta AIK 3-1, goals from Alexander Persson-Njie, Dennis Persson, and Sheriff Suma sealed the victory for the home side.
He said, “I think the season just started and to score my first goal I’m delighted.
“It is always a great feeling scoring and winning in front of your own fans – just a special feeling for me.
“It’s the big games that you look forward to and goals bring the best out of any player – I definitely enjoyed myself scoring.”
Head coach Kalle Granath did rearrange some of his starting eleven when defender Rigest Hysko was rested as a precaution after the sensations in his groin, while Kevin Sharro had to start from the bench after being sick for a week.
This is Syrianska IF second victory of the season last Saturday they defeated Strömsberg (1-0).
They lie seventh on the table after picking up two straight wins, Syrianska will be away to Gamla Upsala who are one place above them next weekend.
