Ravan Baku and Sierra Leone left back Sheriff Suma has urged his team-mates to grasp the opportunity eliminate Chad and show ‘no fear’ against the seven-time African Champions Egypt next month.
Leone Stars are still without a win as they kick start their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign on Saturday against minors Les Sao, Chad in N’djamena.
Suma, 28, the Former Gais winger said they are looking beyond their host as they’re targeting to reach the group stage of Russia 2018.
Leone Stars who have been in Chadian capital for about a week now for the first leg encounter will be guided by Ghanaian Sellas Teteh and Suma believes their preparation has gone well and the players are focused.
He acknowledged at this stage all matches are not going to be any easier or a walk in the park as both sides looking to take home the maximum point.
“We cannot let our heads go down, in Africa for an away game you need to have a good team spirit, right frame of mind and from these few days we have been working on it,” Suma told www.footballsierraleone.net
‘As a team we are focused and know what is at stake, there are no easy games for a place in the group stage, hopefully, our last match against Egypt will be our next step but for now let take the one that is in front of us,’ he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the team will be without notable players David Simbo, Alfred Sankoh, Khalifa Jabbie and, Ibrahim Teteh Bangura, Simbo is out due to an injury he is nursing whiles the others were not invited by the Ghanaian.
However, Simbo has started his recovery but still doubtful for the second leg in Nigeria Port Harcourt.
