US Open Cup Final – Leone Stars midfielder Lahoud ready to roar

Sierra Leone international midfielder Michael Lahoud who plies his trade in US Major League with Philadelphia Union is preparing to make his debut in the 2014 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final on Tuesday if selected, and winning it will be their first club trophy in the team history.

Lahoud who celebrates his 28 birthday on Monday was suspended for Sierra Leone African Nations Cup qualifier against DR Congo, but played some part in the 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast.

His side, The Union are hosting. It’s going to be awesome. The staffs and fans are getting a little introspective and discuss what it means now that the Union are one game away from their first trophy.

“Is a massive final at the PPL Park, it’s no secret that Hundreds of Seattle Sounders fans will be traveling from all over, to cheer on their team in the Tuesday’s final, but we want to make home count, is our first and the prospects of hosting a Cup Final are exciting “. Football Sierra Leone understands, it estimated that nearly 300 Sounders fans are expected to make the trip to PPL Park. The Emerald City Supporters’ seats will be in the upper half of Section 132 of the stadium.

In 2012 Sounders lost the Final in a penalty kick shootout to Kei Kamara’s former club Sporting Kansas City at Sporting Park.

Talking to Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone, Lahoud said. “Personally I have prepared myself mentally and physically for the match and I hope to play my role well to achieve our goal of winning the trophy,”
