The Ivoirians are out looking for a place in the continent’s top competition and victory against Sierra Leone in the first leg fixtures in Group D on Saturday will kick start their bid. Sierra Leone in the other hand have been very organised in recent matches defeating Swaziland and Seychelles to make the group stage of the competition, but are yet to register a goal in Abidjan.

New coach 45-year-old Renard Hervé is looking for his first win since taking over from Sabri Lamouchi July 31 2014 and any complacency will cost him a debut victory at the Felix Houphouet Boingy Stadium.

Meanwhile, Cameroon’s midfielder Alexandre Song is out of DR Congo and the Ivory Coast encounter following a suspension at the World Cup he was sent off in a Group A encounter against Croatia for elbowing Mario Mandzukic.

The West Ham defensive midfielder Song still has two matches remaining from the three-match suspension. His first suspension was against Brazil in the Indomitable Lions last Group stage game.

Song 26 is disqualified from Cameroon team that will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 first round of qualifiers in Group D, away against the Leopards of DR Congo on 5-6 September and in Yaoundé against Côte d’Ivoire on 10 September.
