Sierra Leone attacking midfielder, Julius Wobay and his Slovenia top flight side, NK Olimpija Ljubljana will face a tough test against AS Trenčín in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round following the opening draws of the 2016/17 campaign.

The draw which was confirmed by Uefa last Monday will see Wobay’s side first host their Slovak counterparts on the 12/13 July for the first leg before travelling to the Sihoti Stadium for the return fixtures on 19/20 July.

This will mark the return of the Slovenia PrvaLiga champions to the top European football club tournament after they last qualified during the 2013/14 league season in which they were knocked-out in the second round.

Since joining Olimpija on 29 January 2016 the Sierra Leone international has made 12 appearances scoring twice to help his side to the season title.

Olimpija Ljubljana had won four Slovenian Championships, four Slovenian Cups and one Slovenian Supercup in the period between the country’s independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 until the club’s dissolution in 2004.

Olimpija Ljubljana was founded on 2 March 2005 as NK Bežigrad and only began participating in the Slovenian fifth tier during the 2005–06 seasons.

They have managed to achieve promotion in four successive seasons, reaching the top division for the first time in 2009, after winning the 2008–09 Slovenian Second League title.
