Alfred Sankoh pictured for Leone Stars signs one-year deal at Denizlispor Kulübü

Turkish second tier side Simdi Denizlispor have signed former Balıkesirspor midfielder Alfred Sankoh.

The club also confirmed the news on their twitter account: “Alfred Sankoh , 1 Year to Denizlispor’da”.

The Denizli-based club finished the 2015-16 seasons’ in fifteen (15) positions.

Football Sierra Leone understands that the 27-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal after leaving Balıkesirspor by mutual consent.

The Sierra Leone international midfielder departed the Turkish second tier side after 12 months at the club.

At Balıkesirspor, Sankoh made 21 appearances scored one goal since joining from Azerbaijani top flight league club Khazar Lankaran.

The former Strømsgodset midfielder, who was very impressive against Sudan during Sierra Leone’s African Cup of Nations victory at home on June 4, 2016, took to his Facebook page to express his delight.

“Thank you, Lord, for this done deal today after three weeks of negotiation.” Sankoh posted.

The Leone Stars midfielder began his career with Strømsgodset in May 2008, going on to sign permanently for the club in July of the same year.

In July 2012, Sankoh signed a three-year contract with TFF First League side Şanlıurfaspor.

The former Strømsgodset midfielder, Sankoh moved to Khazar Lankaran, signing a two-year contract in July 2014 where he played 25 times scoring twice.

Sankoh has made 10 appearances for Sierra Leone in international competitions since his debut in a 0-0, 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, draw against South Africa on 10 October 2010.
