Sierra Leone international striker Sheka Fofanah has signed a two-year deal with Danish 1st Division outfit Vejle Boldklub, the club have confirmed.
The Leone Stars match winner against Sudan in June’s AFCON qualifier in Freetown has been on trial with Swedish IFK Norrköping during the summer. The trial period was spoiled by a minor injury.
The Vejle based club has won the Danish championship five times and the Danish cup title six times.
Manager Steen Thychosen told club’s website: “We have followed Sheka Fofanah for a period of training and on Saturday, we saw him lead our U19 League team friendly game. He is only 18 and has a bright prospect ahead of him.”
Fofanah has so far made four appearances for Leone Stars and has been impressive scoring two goals, one each against Gabon in Franceville and Sudan in Freetown in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
