• Finland Kakkonen Play Offs: OPS 1 – 2 FC Honka

Abdul ‘Buduski’ Sesay scored 14 goals in 19 appearances for Oulun Palloseura Jalkapallo (OPS) this season in the Finish third-tier division, but the Sierra Leone midfielder is bitterly disappointed following their 2-1 playoff defeat on Sunday.

The Oulu-based club promotion bid was dealt a major blow following a shocking home defeat to FC Honka at the Oulu-Lehti Arena.

Both sides played to a 2-all draw in the playoffs the first leg last Sunday, and after today’s disappointment for OPS, FC Honka promoted 4-3 on aggregate.

Sesay, who was hoping OPS will secure promotion and end a three-year absence from Finish’s second-tier admitted his disappointment after his team was brought back down to earth.

“I’m disappointed that we lost because we have been doing very well up to this point, but we always knew it wasn’t going to be easy and that we had to fight.”

“This is football; everyone at the club is down at the moment. We were hoping this year is going to be our year, unfortunately, we lost in the playoffs,” Sesay told footballsierraleone.net.

The deadlock was broken shortly after the first five minutes by the visitors; Generoso Da Silva opens the scoring.

The home side levels the scoreline just before the break – Finish forward Konstantin Belov scored in the 45th minute.

In the 73′ minutes, FC Honka midfielder Robert Ivanov scored the winner for the visitors as they gain promotion to the Finish second-tier away from home.

FC Honka finished with 10 men as Rony Huhtala was sent off for a second booking
