Sierra Leone 2017 CAF Confederation cup representative, the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces FC (RSLAF), are set to bow out of this year’s second tier continental cup competition, following a 9-1 humiliating defeat in Tunis from Club Africain on Sunday at the Stade Olympique de Rades in the first leg of their CAF Cup encounter.
The tie was practically over in the first half, the home team were clinical in front of goal scoring four goals with Algerian midfielder Ibrahim Chenihi scoring a first half hat-trick and Nader Ghandri scoring from the spot.
Ghandri, Khelifa, Darragi, Meniaoui and Jaziri scored the other five goals. Ibrahim Silla scored the visitors’ sole goal.
This is the worst ever defeat Sierra Leonean club have suffered in a match in Caf clubs competition.
Kamboi Eagles were beaten 4-0 and 6-0 10-0 aggregate by African Sport of Ivory Coast in the defunct African Cup Winners cup in the 80’s.
