African Football governing body, CAF has appointed Cape Verdean quartet (Pictured) to officiate Saturday’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018 qualifiers between Sierra Leone and Senegal at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
The two sides will clash in the first round of the CHAN 2018 qualifiers and days before the match, the African Football body officially announced on its website that the foursome will take full charge of the match.
Manuel Antonio Timas Mendes will be at the centre of the pack to be assisted by compatriots Jose Carlos Alexandre Pina Mendes and Jorge Correia Semedo Helio as AR 1 & 2 while Fabricio Duarte will serve as the fourth official.
Mendes was the man in charge of Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers between Guinea and Swaziland on June 12 in Morocco- a match which the away side, Swaziland won 2-1. He was also in charge of October 24, 2015, friendly international between Mauritania and Mali which ended 1-1.
The trio was also in charge of the CAF Confederation Cup draw second leg 3-3 between Liberian Football Club Fassell and Guinean side Horoya AC at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, Mali.
Timas Mendes and José Pina Mendes were also part of the match officials in the CAF Champions League Preliminary Round on 14 February 2015 between AS Pikine vs EF Ouagadougou which ended 1-0 in favour of the home side.
