Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah scored the winner against Uganda in their fourth Group E, 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier match to helped his country to a 1-0 on Tuesday at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
There were enormous celebrations at the end among Egyptians, who have not been to the World Cup since 1990 despite winning five African titles since.
Egypt now ahead of the brave Ugandans by two points after four qualifying matches.
The North Africans have nine points, Uganda seven, while Ghana – who have appeared at the last three World Cups – lie in third with five points after thumping Congo 5-1 in Brazzaville.
