Belgian First Division B side, KSV Roeselare have completed the signing of former Leone Stars captain son Ibrahim Kargbo Junior on a one and half season deal with an additional season option.

The Belgian side confirmed the player signing on their official website on Thursday just a day after his 18-year birthday but no further details of the deal were disclosed.

According to the club’s website, Kargbo Jr. who has both the Belgian and Sierra Leonean nationality has been training with them for a while at Roeselare before finally putting pen to paper.

The club’s site reads: “Yesterday, on his eighteenth birthday, Ibrahim Kargbo Junior (03.01.2000, Freetown / Sierra Leone) signed a contract for one and a half season, with an option for an additional season, on Schiervelde. Kargbo, who has both the Belgian and Sierra-Leonean nationality, has been training for a while at Roeselare, but is now officially affiliated with our club.”

In June 2016, the youngster father, Ibrahim Kargbo Snr. confirmed that Crystal Palace completed the signing of his son and was drafted immediately to Premier League side Under 17 and 18 squad. Kargbo Jr. has also had a spell with Reading youth sides U-13 and U-16 where he continues to excel before his move to Palace.

The striker who started playing his football with Germinal Beerschot U-9 sides in Belgium has already featured for Belgium’s Youth U-18 side in a four nation’s friendly tournament in Murcia (Spain). He played full time against Ireland and the Netherlands before having 64th minute run against the Czech Republic. The striker scored on his debut against Ireland.
