Former Sierra Leone boss Sellas Tetteh has agreed to become the new manager of second-tier side Tamale City FC, Football Sierra Leone understands.

Former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku and businessman Ibrahim Mahama are the club’s new owners.

His task is to help guide the ambitious club to the Ghana Premier League next season.

Tamale will face Nea Salamina FC in an away clash in their opening Division One campaign.

Tetteh was caretaker coach of the Leone Stars but failed to guide Sierra Leone to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after a 1-1 draw in Abidjan against Ivory Coast.

Tetteh, 61, left Sierra Leone claiming two months unpaid wages.

He was the architect of Ghana glory during the 2009 Under-20 World Cup which they won.
