Sheka Fofanah spoke of his ‘disappointment’ following El Merreikh CAF Champions League preliminary exit last month.

Botswana side Township Rollers eliminated the 2015 African Champions League semi-finalists 4-2 on aggregate.

The Sierra Leone International scored on his CAF debut for Sudanese top-tier side defeating Rollers 2-1 in Khartoum but his goal was not enough.

“Obviously, was a huge disappointment for me and the club, he told footballsierraleone.net.

“After our home game in Sudan, I was so down and was one of those bad feelings you will not want it to be repeated.”

“My aim was to help the club reach the group stage, but was not meant to be.”

Meanwhile, El Merreikh SC Omdurman have won all three of their league-opening matches.

The 20-year-old, who bagged a debut brace is now focusing on winning something with his new side in Sudan.

“I’m happy here, the club atmosphere is good and I hope my arrival will start something exciting.”

“I will love to win something with this special club,” Fofanah noted.

They will be away to Al Ahli SC Khartoum this weekend in the Sudanese top-flight 2018 campaign.
