Sierra Leone-born and Chelsea academy starlet Trevoh Chalobah has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract.
Trevoh is the younger brother of Nathaniel Chalobah, who is now an England International.
The young defender is still eligible to play for Sierra Leone, the country where he was born.
Chalobah, 18, who has featured regularly for club’s development squad and Under-19s this season, took to Twitter to announce his delight.
He posted “New contract with @ChelseaFC hungry for more ? #humble #CFC.”
The youngster was in Premier League matchday squad for the first time in Chelsea 1-0 away defeat to Manchester City last weekend.
He told club’s website, “Training with players like Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger, who plays in my position, is really good.”
“To be in the squad at the Etihad was a great experience,” he continued. “It was my first time involved in a Premier League matchday with a big crowd – that’s the sort of stage you want to play on every week.”
