Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgården new acquisition Buya Turay has stressed that his bad experience at Sint-Truidense has prompted him not to ever play in Belgium.

Turay, 24, who joined Belgian side Sint-Truidense for a record fee of 1.7 million Euros on a three-year contract from Dalkurd in August 2018, completed a loan move for the 2019 season on Thursday.

“Based on what I have experienced at Sint-Truidense for the five months I have decided not to play again in Belgium,” Turay told BBC Sport.

Turay, who made only six appearances for the Sint-Truidense and scored his only goal on his debut repeatedly stressed his intention of never to play in Belgium.

He scored his only goal for the club on his debut a 1-1 home draw against Lokeren back in August 2018.

“I feel disappointed because things didn’t go the way I was expecting for reasons I can’t talk about.”

“But let me repeat I’ll never again play in Belgium.”

The striker added, “Things changed after I scored my first goal for the club on my debut. Since then it was either I was on the bench or not on the list for matches.”

The Sierra Leone international scored 9 goals in 13 appearances for the Swedish side before his move.

During the 2016 season in the Swedish Superettan, Turay accounted for ten goals to help AFC Eskilstuna promoted to Allsvenskan.
