Sierra Leone’s Mohamed James ‘Pele’ Sesay has admitted he was happy to be named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Junior College III Men’s National Player of the Year.

The former FC Johansen player has also named the league most valuable player for 2018.

The striker registered 28 goals to help his Thunderducks to the school’s 7th NJCAA National Championship.

Sesay’s achievements have prompted him for more he told Football Sierra Leone about his determination to claim more heights.

“I am pleased because of the Award has helped me gained experience, met with many top-class players, coaches around the United States,” Sesay told FSL.

“It’s great for my career, my lovely family back in Sierra Leone and thanks to my loving supporting wife and son.”

“It has widened my determination to let me focus in achieving many more in the future.”

“I believe that I can do more. I was very pleased because of this recognition will only help my career in so many ways.”

Sesay added, “This is going to connect me with a lot of sports experts to help me become Successful.”

The 23-year-old became the 3rd Richland College player to win the award in school history.

The other two were Jesus “Chuy” Rodriguez 2002 and Mikkel Rohde 2016.

James also became the Richland College all-time career goal scorer with a school record 55 goals.
