Ivorian giant Asec Mimosas and Nigerian Premier side, Lobi Stars will go toe to toe in the CAF Champions League Group A tie in Ivory Coast on Saturday.
The expected Kick-off time is slated for 6:00 pm at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny as hosts Asec looking to win their first in the group.
They lost their opening 5-2 away to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca last weekend.
Lobi Stars, on the other hand, beat South African Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the group opening matches and they’re second on goal difference.
Asec are placed fourth on Group A standings – three points behind the leaders, Wydad after match-day one.
Mimosas coach Amani Yao has urged his players to take every opportunity and, be ruthless in front of goal as the 1998 Champions League winners target their maiden Group A win.
“We tried to work to erase our mistakes. The mistakes we made in Rabat so that we can try to be successful on Saturday,” Yao said.
“We will try to approach this game well. Whether in attack or defence. We will have to be effective in front of goal.”
Lobi coach Solomon Ogbeide is expecting a tough encounter but hoping to take the game to Asec away from home.
“We haven’t won anything yet but we can now build on the victory against Mamelodi Sundowns to focus on the next game against ASEC,” Ogbeide said on Football Live.
“We have a good spirit, and remain positive going for the away game against ASEC and we are going to take the game to them in Abidjan.”
