• Burkina Faso referee, Jean Ouattara, will officiate Sierra Leone 2021 African Cup of Nations opening qualifying tie against Lesotho on November 13 at the Freetown Siaka Steven Stadium.

The two nations for the first time will go toe to toe in their continental football history. 

Ouattara, who has been an international since 2015 will take charge of Sierra Leone match for the second time in two months, but this time behind-closed-doors.

Before Sierra Leone’s Fifa sanction, Ouattara was the centre man in charge of Sierra Leone 1-0  victory over Liberia during the return leg encounter of the 2022 World Cup preliminary qualifier on September 8th, 2019 at the same venue.

Ouattara’s compatriots Seydou Tiama will be assistant ref 1, Ahabou Abdoura Wobgo assistant ref 2. Hamidou Diero is the fourth Burkinabe and will serve as the fourth official. 

Liberia’s Deputy Minister of Sports G Andy Quamie is the Match Commissioner.

Meanwhile, the Lesotho Crocodiles are expected to arrive in Freetown on the 9th of November to honour their African Cup of Nations qualifier with a 26-man delegation.
