In-form Sierra Leonean striker Augustus Kargbo scored the vital opener in the 23rd minute as Reggio Audace overcome Novara at their Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore while Bari beats Carrarese.

A place for Serie B at stake

Kargbo’s goal was his ninth of the season in all competition. One more win away if they are to play next season playing in the second-highest level of Italian football.

Following a tight opening 22 minutes, the FC Crotone on loan striker capitalised from a poor back pass to tap in his side 23rd-minute opener en route to the final.

The host lead lasted for 22 minutes when Daniele Buzzegoli’s long-range strike from outside the box level the scoreline.

A determine Reggio Audace almost regain their lead but Kargbo’s second tap in was ruled out for offside. However, Alessandro Spanò closed range in the 51st minutes from a Kargbo assist was enough to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Elsewhere, Bari, at the ‘San Nicola’, defeat Silvio Baldini’s Carrarese over 120 fiery minutes. Goals from Di Cesare and Simone Simeri navigate them to the final. Bari and Reggio Audace will compete in a single game at the ‘Mapei Stadium’ in Reggio Emilia in the final next Wednesday.
